It was really bad for the 1964 Sixth round FA Cup tie at home to Burnley Percy unofficially well over 40,000 Upton Park was heaving.

Re: Compensation for famiiles of Hillsborough victims
I was caught in a crush coming out of the west bank at Upton park and believe me it's a frightening experience.
This was in the early 60s and they'd only opened one gate leading on to the forecourt.
I was only about ten and after that experience dad me and my brother used to jump up on the cinder bit and walk round to the south bank exit.

I was at Hillsborough 1965 Man Utd V Leeds long story why I was there as a 14 year old but the ground that day was heaving and fans spilt onto the pitch at one time but there wasn't fencing up in those days so apart from police negligence etc., in 1989 the fencing was the killer.

It's a poor trait in a person to keep harping on about something from years back, just makes you look extremely dull, bitter and like a forgetful old fella forever repeating himself.

I use to be accused on here of raping children, I take it that's okay?

Anyway, NOTHING on here is important, son. I'm off out for a sherbert, you know real life.

Re: Compensation for famiiles of Hillsborough victims
The solution to all the repetition on this site is to come up with something original - not to expect someone else to, so you can simply react.

Start original and interesting threads and the shit ones will soon fall off the bottom of the page.

Am I right or am I right?

Re: Compensation for famiiles of Hillsborough victims
Yes, I think the compo is coming from the OB.

With you about always playing the victim, etc. My only point was threads like this are just created for more Scouse bashing that we've heard a 1000x before, but it's typical of this site where you are expected to tread on egg shells on certain topics, and sympathise with posters who have 'lost' their wife's brothers second cousin through covid, yet it's okay to mock families that lost their children going to football.

Re: Compensation for famiiles of Hillsborough victims
That big post just said, whilst I stand by some of my points I’ve just read about the compensation being for the OB cover up which pushed the blame was solely of the Scouse at the time.

I absolutely get OB lied about their involvement in how badly they reacted.

I was posting more to the scouse’s inability to accept they do anything wrong, reacting to the thread rather than the facts.

Can I blame Kenzo and the fact I’m pissed?

Re: Compensation for famiiles of Hillsborough victims
Manuel every family has lost someone early.

My family has due to alcoholism.

If we follow this new Hilsborough model which seems to be regardless of fan behaviour the authorities didn’t cope with it well so we should hound them till the families get some bunce then lots of claims open up surely?

Else it’s bunce for what?

A very fucking nuanced acceptance OB did some things wrong, which then is taken that the Scouse were blameless and the authority must pay?

Does that give every fan licence to do what they like knowing they can simply blame plod for reacting badly and sue?

Can my family sue the various pubs, bar staffs or breweries for the death of our family member from the drink?

That’s where this takes us. Get a campaign group going big and long enough and get some dough?

Im not saying the families don’t deserve some financial comfort, let’s just be realistic about why this is happening for this case.

It’s pressure from the Scouse to absolve themselves of blame, no one is pressuring from the other disasters there has been in this way I don’t think.

Re: Compensation for famiiles of Hillsborough victims
Not sure where the fishhook is Manuel.

Yeah, OB made lots of mistakes there is no doubt BUT if the number of people due to be in the ground matched the capacity then would there have been an issue?

The Scouse can’t boast of being the kings of snide tickets and jibbing in at that time but also pretend, as they have been, that they all tried to quietly queue in single file sober and the old bill kettled them to disaster.

Same as Heysel, the stadium was a shithole but the wall wouldn’t have been under pressure had the Scouse not run at the Juve fans causing them to leg it backwards.

We can offer conjecture also about the Euro finals and all the stories of them mugging tickets off each other and kicking toilet block doors through for the Euro final and jibbing in. So many years on and they didn’t learn. Why is this?

Ultimately all the disasters they’ve been involved in they’ve had an active fucking hand in so people are going to receive this move with a lot of cynicism.

Always the victim, it’s never their fault.
